ABOUT

Rwanda Orphans Project

Started back in 1991, Rwanda Orphans Project has helped children from over 290 families and currently supports around 130 orphans in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. Through their work they provide the children in their care with the provisions needed towards their education. At the end of secondary school there is the opportunity of University for those with high academic grades and over 130 of the Project children have gained degrees. Those who are not so keen on academic studies have the opportunity of two years spent in the Skills Training Centre learning Catering, Tailoring, Beauty, Welding or Electrical Installation. Many houses have been purchased over the past 30 years for orphan families while others have had repairs carried out to their homes. Each month the families receive financial support.
