Peace is not the absence of problems and challenges, indeed the disciples were being sent out to replicate the mission of Jesus, what could be more challenging. Peace is the presence of Jesus in the midst of the fears and the challenges. It is his peace given to us not ours. He showed them his pierced hands and side. So let us continually look to him whose punishment bought us peace.
