Thought for November 2022

“This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘ Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know’” (Jeremiah 33:2-3).

In this chapter Jeremiah sows into the people of Jerusalem—besieged by brutal Babylon—a hope that looks beyond the immediate terrors that surround them to new possibilities. These shoots of hope are rooted in the Lord’s nature as Creator, so Jeremiah (as well as Isaiah and many other prophets) uses creation language to remind his hearers of the Lord’s trustworthiness and faithfulness. May you be reminded that the Creator Lord who brought light out of darkness, possibility out of emptiness and life out of nothing can do the same for you and those you serve for He is still the Creator Lord.

Yours in our Lord Jesus Christ,

The Müllers Prayer Team
