Thought for December 2021

“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising”

Isaiah 60:1-3

In these seasons of Advent and Christmas we retell the story of the Light of the World, born into the deep darkness of a sinful world. From humble beginnings this Light, although rejected and killed by sinful darkness, is risen and shining His Glory upon us that the Church, as His people, might witness to it and see many drawn to its wonderful warmth and illumination. As we come before Him in worship and wonder, we receive His Light that we might carry it out into the world of our daily lives and activities that others too might themselves be enlightened. May you be assured of the illuminating comfort of the Lord’s presence at this time, and may you know yourselves empowered to shine into a world that remains deeply dark and desperately in need of the Light of the gospel of the glory of God.

Yours in Christ, The Müllers Prayer Team
