Welcome to Two New Team Members

At the end of April, we welcomed two new members to our staff team, Kate Jordan and Nathan Wilcox. We asked them both a couple of questions as they begin their roles as Administrator and Bookkeeper.

Kate shared:

What inspires you about the George Muller story?

George Müller’s persistent faith particularly inspires me, especially during the difficult times he faced. He faced many challenges including ill health, the early death of his son, and living through a time of cholera, typhoid and poverty.

Despite all this, his faith never crumbled. He always seemed to know in his heart that God was there. He didn’t expect life to be easy, but he walked with God through it. He also re-ignited the faith of many Christians and got results both practically and spiritually.

What excites you about your new role?

I enjoy seeing others thrive and reach their potential, and so I’m really excited to be part of a team that helps bring hope and well-being to so many people. I feel it is important to continue the legacy of George Müller and let his life story inspire and empower as many people as possible.

Nathan also answered:

What inspires you about the George Muller story?

More than anything else, I am inspired by his example as an ordinary man changed by encountering God and truth. He then faithfully lived and acted out of constant prayer to God, reflecting the life of Jesus “I only do what I see the Father doing” and “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all [other] things will be added to you”. This provision was proved to be true in Müller’s life! Müller was committed to doing good, not for its own sake but because he knew God, and wanted his life to point to God, who is all about bringing restoration to everything - from people’s lives to all of the world.

What excites you about your new role?

It is a pleasure to be back on the team at Müllers, where there is a fresh vision to bring hope and wholeness to children and young people around the world. I am excited to do my part in a team that is focused on the vision to see people finding real, full life, by inspiring faith, nurturing families, strengthening churches and transforming communities to bring change. It is going to be great hearing about and being involved with the work of our partners around the world, and working in a variety of ways to help communicate that transforming vision more widely and clearly.
