Christmas Resources 2021

Here we share some of the brilliant Advent and Christmas resources we've come across. There’s something to inspire everyone: with material to include in planning services and activities, and more personal or family friendly resources too.

We hope these resources will inspire Comfort and Joy in you and those around you this Christmas.

Advent

Archbishop of York Youth Trust: Community Matters at Christmas - A free schools' resource for KS2 and KS3 this Advent. This resource celebrates how our community can bring us joy, acceptance, generosity and love.

Meaningful Chocolate Company - These products are a great way to share the Christmas story. They are Fairtrade, made in the UK and the Calendars come with a 24 page Christmas story-activity book.

Sat-7: Watch and Wait Advent – Resources you need to pray with Sat-7 during advent as an individual, small group or church

Christmas Services and Resource Packs

The Church of England: At the Heart of Christmas - Advent reflections, inspiring reflections for 12 days starting on Christmas eve and tips for making the most of your digital presence.

Children’s Society and Messy Church Christingle - These organisations have teamed up to help you organise and deliver Christingle in a different way. With loads of ideas and activities, this is fun for all ages.

Messy Church Advent and Christmas - Activities and other ideas as Messy Churches plan the celebration of Advent and Christmas.

Church Support Hub: Blue Christmas - Many bereaved people find Christmas unbearably difficult - those who mourn can feel excluded. Why not consider holding a service such as ‘Blue Christmas’ or ‘Longest Night service’, providing a space in church for those who mourn? This resource can be used to create a service or be followed by individuals/families at home.

Engage Worship - Plenty of great worship ideas, songs, poems, reflections, videos and more on offer that would be great additions to a church service or small group.

Resource Packs from NGOs

Send a Cow: Life Changing Trees this Christmas - This pack is a brilliant way for churches to support people out of poverty this year. Included are a poster, thought provoking information and activities, and material to use in a church service.

Operation Mobilisation: From Ordinary to Extraordinary - This Christmas Resource Pack includes Christmas service resources, 'The Angel Who Couldn't Sing' animated video, quiz sheets, a poster and an icon/sticker for church communications.

Open Doors: Finding Family – A great resource pack for connecting with your persecuted church family this Christmas, with service materials and guides, and activities for children and youth, alongside the opportunity to support the work of Open Doors.

Planning and Digital Tips

South West Baptist Association: Digital Christmas Webinar - This is a great place to get some tips on planning and doing digital Christmas well – whether that’s Christmas services or other activities digitally for your church this year.
