'applying theological insights to the practicalities of daily life'

The course exists to offer practical, relevant training to the whole church, by drawing on the strengths of the whole church, in order that the whole church may be built up and equipped for mission

Practical Theology Training Course

Practical Theology

Theology:

· a pursuit for people with no link to the real world?

· a dry, dusty academic pursuit for people who have forgotten that 'knowledge puffs up, but love builds up'?

If this is what springs to mind then you might be surprised to hear that Müllers runs a course described as, 'great fun', 'refreshing' and, 'thought provoking'. It has been exciting to have had a number of people from Müller Partnership churches attending over  the years.

Phil WilliamsPhil Williams (left), the National Leader of Christian Surfers said, "I have loads of experience of seeing God work in practical terms… However, as a leader of over 500 volunteers in Christian work, I felt it was really necessary to brush up my Bible knowledge." He said the course was ideal for him, and provided a thought provoking and informative place to learn and discuss challenging issues.

SaraJaneSaraJane Box (right) heard about the course from various friends, leaders and colleagues who had attended in the past. She is involved in church pastoral issues, marriage preparation and outreach to drug dealers in the community. She said, "Discovering new depths of the Scriptures has been fantastic … It stirs in you a hunger that constantly yearns for more." It has helped her gain a greater confidence in the Bible, which has also been of benefit to her own personal discipleship.

Will Brown, part of the worship team at Bradford-on-Avon Christian Fellowship, said, "The course is a great chance for meeting new people from different backgrounds; every week it has never failed to give me another glimpse of the Kingdom of God."

Andy and Gill Luxford co-lead Wellspring Community Church in Brislington. Having attended the course, they reflected, "The teaching is good for our own understanding and journey with God and, as the title of the course suggests, is also very practical. We find it is making us better equipped in our leadership role in Wellspring and in our lives generally."
